College Counseling

Overview: See below for packages

JMAC is based on the belief that the job of a college counselor is to guide students throughout their high-school experience to help them identify and develop their passions. Then, make the college selection and application process as exciting, transparent, and stress-free as possible. Jesse is here so that you can spend less time on your applications and in college counseling meetings, not more. Behind every face-to-face meeting lies hours of research, attended webinars and conferences, conversations with college admissions representatives, and college tours. Jesse does the groundwork and keeps up with the college admission landscape, so you don’t have to.

Jesse also knows the time demands on high-achieving high-school students and the unique rhythm of the school year. She’s been there. She was a high-school teacher and college counselor. She knows what you need to do in the college application process and, more importantly, what you don’t. She creates a personalized schedule to leverage the downtimes of your school year and maximize your bandwidth. The earlier she starts working with you, the better she can help you create your educational path. See below for an overview of packages; she will send you a customized plan after your first consultation and continue to modify it to meet your needs.

CORE

navigating high school to prepare and apply to college

In this program, students begin working with Jesse in their freshman year. She supports students to identify, leverage, and elevate their strengths and interests throughout their high-school journey. Taking rigorous academics, engaging in extra-curricular activities, developing intellectual curiosity, finding leadership opportunities, contributing to a community, and developing strong relationships are all core to the high-school experience. Core supports the student to drive their high-school experience by setting goals and intentionally planning versus just letting high school happen. Jesse remains constant as teachers, coaches, and school counselors may change throughout a student’s high school experience. The Core program is designed for freshman and sophomore students. After their sophomore year, students begin the comprehensive college counseling program.
